The Commodore 64 was a self contained personal computer built by Commodore Business Machines and based on MOS Technology's 6502 8 bit microprocessor (same as used in the Apple II and BBC Acorn). It used a TV as a video monitor and was very popular in the early 1980s, building on its predecessor the Vic 20. The 64 referred to 64Kbytes of memory.

The Cromemco SCC was one of the early S-100 bus cards to fit a full working computer onto a single card and was intended for computer control applications. It used a Z-80 microporocessor running at 4 MHz and included a serial port, three parallel ports, five timers, 1 kB of RAM and up to four 2708 1 KB or four 2716 2 KB EPROM chips, containing a built-in monitor program and a version of Dr. Li Chen Wang's Tiny BASIC, called 3K Control BASIC.
